same re: overlong patience of front offices like fuarkkkk its kinda crazy actually how much of a GM's roster building job isn't just stats combos and playstyle compatibility but also trying to gaslight a group into cooperating w/ each other beyond the frontiers of their actual contractual obligations (lbr.... ). pavs being one of the few players willing to even admit to talking to analytics nerds is amazing though.

>> "the language and expectation of what a "team culture" should look like varies so much depending on whether you're media, a ~regular~ fan, a twitter/tumblr/rpf fan, etc." <<< rttttt i think a lot about that random reddit comment like "one time our whole beer league team was just pissing each other off really bad so we had a no holds barred fistfight in the locker room and it really cleared the air and we were fine the rest of the season" which just always cracks me up. cause like maybe some of these teams need that... obviously that's extreme and at the end of the day the nhl is Very Much A Workplace, but sometimes i feel like the rpf/fandom angle fails to grasp the casual maliciousness men will use to actually strengthen bonds. vs media which i guess is much more On Ice Results Oriented and mostly about ""selfish"" play / work ethic / accountability i guess..... but if u have comparisons in how you think the diff groups understand ~team culture~ i'd be interested to hear! even just using the example of the nux cause i was NAWT expecting jtm blorboadjacency i thought he'd be a perfect scapegoat for all fandom ills omg

pleathe the hunting i had to do to locate said content... the lack of anyone else there also makes it so much more haunting too. jbenn and robo mutual respect feels like such a tenuous balance that is perhaps only possible due to the big age gap / different era responsibilities. i think fairly often of jbenn ragging on the sedin twins on a radio show for being weird and conscientious and Upstanding Citizens or w/e lmfao and copping flak for it after (rightly so etc etc) bc it's like... oh so he hates geeks and dorks and nerds. well what if your heir was the biggest dork imaginable... cosmic punishment.

>roope definitely thinks he's annoying
honestly real though. i feel like jrob isn't even fun-annoying enough to break into the Class Clown / roster freak role which i think roope has more appreciation for than others, he's just kind of a know it all and not very cool LMFAO. it kinda is wild to see jrob be so bossy and assertive on ice bc his civilian-sona is so laidback and accomodating too. IS THAT NOT WEIRD? are you doing a *facewipe* END SCENE. after cooldowns??.... although ig it's easier for roope et al put up with that kind of bossiness when jrob's playing style is so generous and co-operative. which SPEAKING OF. both his best friends being the goalies is so on the nose!! how is he playing Like That but then being so aligned with the players who think of themselves as Apart and Slightly Separate...and funny this season to have the comparisons of mush and delly who flashed their Just A Guy cards upon arrival and were instantly established as key foundations in the Inner Guy Circle. i do feel like the eurocliques have more room for the sort of dork that jrob is but it would be so conspicuous and weird if that actually became his clique. wedge/nils/ROBO/otter leftovers friendline 2023 just for how funny that is conceptually

dont apologise for juniors content!! it's always fun to get some hints of incoming talent to the league and think about intl comps instead hehe.
